I can see a word that involves a spasm for 11 across...indeed I suffer from it, but I simply cannot parse it to fit the clue. I have F?B?I?L?T?
Are any of those letters wrong?

The letters are correct. Pork pie is a slang word for a lie

Thanks, guys. I had never heard the pork/pie/lie connection, but I suppose it is rhyming slang. So my atrial f is the correct answer.

I have the answer and can see the porkpie, the runner and the consumed but doesn't the clue suggest that the porkie goes inside the runner, rather than the other way about?
Also, I think I have 14 across - definition one supplying information - but can't see relevance to e = r. I have s_U_A_E_.

Re 11a, you need to mentally re-punctuate the clue as
"Runner, having consumed, pork pie first, to go into spasm"

14a One supplying information that E=R, maybe (8)
It's an anagram of 'E equals R'
