I see yesterday's puzzle generated a couple of other queries. That's good - it's not just me getting stupider then...

Learning about one French river = L-I-E. That'll be Loire - L/learning, I/one, about/RE but that still leaves an O. What am I not seeing?

lore is a body of facts on a particular subject, hence lore ... learning, and you almost have the whole answer.
