Thanks Malone , I finally figured out Tesla, funny how often he appears in crosswords. I appreciate your help. I find the Times puzzles so much harder than the Telegraph, which I am more used to.

Glad I could help. I often manage to complete the Times crossword fairly quickly, but today's was very tough.
