5ive gears in reverse

12th April 2010, 21:36
I just can't see these last two. Any help appreciated, so I can get it in the post tomorrow.

22a In short, self inflicted wound by a snake (4)
NAI? - I can find nain - Scottish for self - but what's the rest of the wordplay.

33a Ease onself back onto God profoundly (4) DEE? - again DEEP covers the profoundly bit - but what's the rest of the wordplay.

Ref 22a I have found the following which provides the missing wordplay?

The hooded snake (NAIA tripudians), a highly venomous serpent inhabiting India.

Thank you, Sarumite.. good to know that you're still around and giving great advice!

A combination of working nights and having a heavy cold means that I'm not firing on all cylinders.

NAIA it is then.
