Help, please.
Does anybody know what a "gouk" is?
It is meant to be an item of clothing and need to know occupation of woman wearing it.
This word does not appear in any dictionary or Google.Really stuck.

I agree with you Ixion that this appears to be an alternative spelling of gowk.

Thanks, ixion and TJ. Did find gowk but do not see how that fits with finding occupation of woman wearing it.I suppose this could be a missprint or something. Have spent a lot of time on it.
