Indeed it is. What's the cryptic explanation of 6 Down - "Old ass gets up and leaves in stew" (oregano)?

And what's 12 across - "Tipped over rum, covering a part of wall" (-A-O)?

1. Awild ass is called an Onager. So O(old)+onager backwards = oregano.

2. Rum = odd. Backwards around "a" = dado.
