Another tricky puzzle from Tim Moorey but worth persevering.
I need confirmation on one clue; if anyone can assist I would appreciate it
28d. Primarily said of the Blair Government's style? (4)
I have S_F_
I believe the last letter is A because of the instructions to solving the complete puzzle. These instructions state that the clue definition is as usual, but the wordplay does not indicate one letter. In this case it is the letter A.
I think the answer is Sofa. Can anybody elaborate on that?

I have just googled 'sofa-style'
bingo! The Telegraph reported:-
"Labour's sofa-style of Government criticised in report from ex-permanent secretaries" 23 Jan 2010
So I will stick to that

Hi wombat

I agree it is "Sofa" style, and the "A" is necessary to finalise the members of the required group.

You may have finished it by now, but if not there are two possible solutions to 10a with different perimeter letters. I originally had the wrong alternative, which made it difficult to solve the theme.

Thank you sarumite.
I also made the mistake of assuming N for the final letter and this prevented me seeing the link to the solution.

Last clue, please can anyone help?

12a Wound heals? Absolutely (2,4)

A? H?L?

As per Tim Moorey's instructions the last letter is not in the clue. Would the first 5 letters be an anagram of heals? I can't make anything of it, so any help appreciated!

A clue on the shaded squares would help too! Or will it all come to me with this final letter?

Thank you
