I'm stuck on my final clue at the bottom LH corner " Is allowed to live,perhaps " *O*B*. Further clue please.

I think to second letter might be an "A"....a name for a month followed by a two letter word meaning exist.

I have DEVILRY. Def' is"wickedness", and I suppose "harmful" = "evil" (just about), but does "dry" = "subtle"?

i think wit or humour can be subtle/dry?
