6 letter word, Clue- an artificial channel for water.
2nd letter should be L as clue is-"implement for plucking guitar strings".8 letters & I have plectrum.
4th letter should be O as clue is- "Dutch settler in S.Africa". 4letters & I have Boer.
6th letter should be E as clue is "small carnivore with slender body". 6 letters & I have weasel.HELP PLEASE

SLUICE is a possibility if the O from Boer could be something else?

Quite agree. I cannot find another name for BOER.
Any ideas? It is the only clue causing a problem.
