I reckon 'animal crackers in brown paper' is probably MANILA - which makes the 'B' incorrect.

Zed,
I think it's callabonna - 'call' followed by 'anna' around 'bo'. Phew! wiki sys it's a dry lake rather than a river but it's the best I can offer. Cheers.

Just went back to see who had set me on the right path here for 'moa' and discovered Rosecart had sent a solution offering the same conclusion as I have for the southern river, also realising it is only a lake.
