Could anybody give me some pointers with the theme and quotation of this weeks enigmatic variations. I'm having problems getting started.

Laura I cannot really help this puzzle seems far too daunting for my trivial brain, but I can tell you the clue for 3down is incorrect and they will print a correction on 21/03 and have extended the date to 26/03.
