I cant grasp one clue. Eg wide- awake before wedding, does she rule the house normally. 6 letters. Is it hatter or hattie. Also 5 letters Put up in eastern inn transferring sections. Is it raise? Any help appreciated.

HATTIE is listed in the Chambers Appendix 'Some First Names' in editions except the 12th (2011), from which the section was "untimely ripp'd". HATTIE = diminutive of HARRIET = feminine form of HENRY = 'house ruler' (Germanic).

In 24dn the two sections of SERAI, SE and RAI are to be 'transferred', ie changed over or exchanged, to produce RAISE.

Your explanation had me wondering if the last word of the clue should have been "nominally" rather than "normally".
I have just checked the crossword and it is "nominally"
