My 'S' and second 'F' are pretty certain as they come from novel titles by Aldous Huxley and L.P. Hartley! What am I doing wrong?

That's what I originally thought. But the 'S' is from 19d Distinctive nature Huxley associated with anthropoid(7) which I think refers to Aldous Huxley's "Ape and Essence".
