Hi everyone, I'm new here and in need of some help with the last clue in today's ES cryptic crossword.

Land of the rising Sun? (5)

L I ? H ?

I'm thinking Light or Lithe but can't see how they fit the clue.

Any answers or explanation is much appreciated!

To land or get down from something is to 'light' from it
Also the rising sun gives light.
Nice double definition

Thanks Les and Snooty.

I was almost sure it was Light but it annoys me when I can't work out how an answer fits the clue!

A new double meaning to remember for next time :)

Thanks for your help - crossword now complete!
