Actually, I think Jack (who was a legendary shearer) is a reference to a guy by the name of Jackie Howe who came from the Darling Downs in Queensland, Australia and gave the name to a singlet worn by a lot of Australian males. Jackie Howe is also known as the greatest shearer who ever lived. Hence the question: Jack's purchase fior wool gathering
