how many letters in the word? any clues as to what word you're looking for?? i'd suggest "deride" fits, but i suppose that depends on the kind of word you're after

no it starts and finishes with double letters and has an r after them first double letters

You're going to have to help us out here. How many letters are there in your word and do you have any other letters?

On what you have given us so far I'll punt for EERIE. It starts with a double letter, has the same letter at the start and end and has an 'R' in the middle. So it fits all of your criteria!!

or maybe aardvaark?! help if you could tell us the length of the word or some more info, rather than us just taking stabs in the dark...
