I've tried everything I know about, including a message to crossword.editor@theguardian.com.

Hi all, have managed to print crossword grid and clues but no special instructions. This is the first time for ages that I've been able to print it off without having to cut and paste in sections, so I suppose there is some progress!

Special instructions: Each clue contains one word surplus to requirements. The initial letters of these words, in clue order, spell out a group, followed by the title of one of its works. This title is taken from someone else's work; both title and author should become apparent as you solve the puzzle. The unclued solution required at 14 across performs the central role in this second work.
