I must say it's lovely to see that this thread has evolved into the kind of threads we used to have where fun, witty banter and harmless innuendo were common, and everyone joined in.Yes, we had the odd troll who interrupted (and one or two got barred !)but on the whole it was good.

Just to keep this going, I spent a week near Alnwick last year, visited Craster, Lindisfarne etc. very enjoyable time. If you don't know it, Borders Books in Alnwick is a treasure trove, a second hand shop where you can easily while away a wet afternoon. It's huge.
