Asterisk may be a better fit than my suggestion of asteroid, which is more of a planet than a star. I know that also requires a change in the given letters but it looks more accurate.

Asterisk (and checked with the thesaurus) is right and changed equity answer to fairness and changed it altogether (which is an answer that fits and was wrong) along with other clues (some answers more than one answer that fits!!)
