I have two answers for the last question to finish the crossword, but I cannot decide which one to use. I would really appreciate it if someone could help explain which answer I should use and why…..

Question: Arrived at (a conclusion) (4,2)…..C?ME TO
Answers: Come To….Came To

Past Simple Tense, surely, like "arrived", so CAME!

I can see what may have lead you to think 'Come' may have been an option.

(I have) Arrived at (a conclusion)

(I have) come to a conclusion

But without that additional information in the clue I think 'Came' is the right one to go for.

I think, perhaps, your embarrassment has coloured your judgement, qwerty - I don't think GK had the intention at all to make you feel that you had asked a stupid question.
