Having a hard time on this! For 7d Landslide to occur across Guinea (8) I have ber???le but can't find the word. I also need a hint or two as how to figure out the name of the fictional scholar. Any help to get me going would be most appreciated.

Hi farr, your last letter to 7d. (which is also the last letter to the unclued 26a see preamble) is incorrect.
You need the 2 letter "code" for Guinea. Hope this helps.

Sorry, the 2 letter "code" for Guinea in a synonym of "occur". The answer was new to me.

Hi again farr, I imagine rosie's post crossed with your last and that should help a lot. Remember that the 3 particular unclueds are a description of the character and how he was usually referred to rather than his name.
