Hi all,

Just wondering if someone can help me with getting to grips with some cryptic answers.

I'm working through the Daily Mail All New Cryptic Crossword 2 book.

The clue is, Fellow played this to lure in female in intervals' The answer is, 'Fifths'.

So, intervals = fifths but where does the rest of the clue fit into it?

thanks for helping.

F = fellow + anagram of THIS + F for female

F for "fellow", then anagram ("playing") "this" with F(emale) included.

Ps. Played is the anagram indicator and lure in means take the F for female and place inside.
