This always seems to have a few devious, perverse and arguably plain wrong clues. Anyway I think I'm down to the last one:

drawback, tense (5)

W.N.E which seems to lead to WINCE or WINGE but I can't really see why.

wince: second definition is a hoist/winch

But what has "hoist/winch" to do with the clue?
Imho the clue should read "(to) draw back" i.e.verb, "tense" referring to the state one is in at the time, then it would be "(to) WINCE" !!!

Maybe we don't have the whole clue, but based on what we have I don't see an alternative!
