13a. Run into old bird, say, making snack. I have two words, meat p??. I think that it cannot be meat pie.

Sounds right to me.

MEAT sounds like meet, i.e. run into.

PIE is the old name for magpie.

I think it is "run into" = "meet", sounds like ("say") MEAT, and PIE is a country name for MAGPIE and other black and white birds.
