thank all for that, I will try to remember the ? in future or * perhaps its prettier. Getting used to a mini iPad is a bit fiddly.Both the answers were correct I think. I had a clue wrong.

? is much better, as it can just be copied and pasted into word searches (e.g. http://www.chambers.co.uk/word-wizard.php?count=4&newword=?A?A?I?E&total=45
