7d Go through formalities to accept pound note, changing money (5,2, 8)
= Stand on ceremony
changing 'money' clearly given in last five letters but how does the 'to accept pound note' relate to 'stand on cer'?
Is 'accept' an envelope indicator?

accept = stand
pound = oncer (a quid a oncer)

stand is accept; "oncer" is old slang for a pound note

Stand = accept + oncer = slang for an old ponnd noted (similar to fiver, tenner, score etc).
