I've actually managed to finish this weeks crossword already! (quite a rare occasion!)
but cannot parse one answer......
11D: Oriental skill mastered without tears (7)
O?I?A?I It must be 'origami' (def: oriental skill) but the rest of the parsing?
I've tried taking the letters for 'tears' out of 'mastered' (leaving 'med' )but this doesn't seem to get me any where?
Help needed please!

My take on it was that in Origami you fold the paper rather than tear it . Maybe someone has something better.

Thank you, both - would you believe I never even contemplated that version of 'tears'! I was thinking of the one that is pronounced 'teers' rather than 'tares'!!!!!
