Hi rmleake, I'm back. I've just looked at lebensraum on the internet. Until now the word has passed me by. Doing the jumbo each week means I often learn new things - never too old to learn! I just hope next week's will be less painful!

I'd heard of "lebensraum" (learnt it in history 50+ years ago!). But it must mean that my answer to 39a -rearing aid - for which I put "child support" is wrong. Which would explain why I can't get 23d or 28d. Can anyone help me by correcting me on 39a please? Thanks.

Yes, thanks jazzgirl. Saw that as soon as I'd changed one of the down clues. Must say I very nearly gave up after first 4 sessions with this one. I think I must have gradually got into the setter's brain ... and now I can't really put my finger on what was so different. Ah, well .... if it fires the brain cells up a bit more it can only be a good thing. Have a good weekend with 1132!

I just hope 1132 will be a bit easier, although I did enjoy the challenge of 1131. I really need to get some spring cleaning done this weekend....
