23A: Soldier breaking free completely (5)
R?G?D
I 'm thinking 'rigid' - GI (soldier) breaking up 'RID' (free)? but then where does 'completely' come in?
Can't see the definition?
Help please!
( and it's my last one!)

I think you are correct, Elle.
I think "completely" is a bit wishy-washy to be a synonym of "rigid", though?

Thanks, Rusty.
I looked up the definitions of both 'rigid' and 'completely' (in Chambers of course!) and couldn't relate them to each other.
Can't see any other answer though.
