I had the same problem with clicking on the link to go to PayPal until I disabled Adblock Plus (using firefox)

I would certainly recommend Paypal. I've not had a single problem paying for anything since I registered. I'm on Chrome now but I also used IE.

I second what rossim has said.
It would also be worth sharing on facebook and/or twitter if you have an active account.
