6A - instrument, one deployed in a theatre - p-p-e-.

22D - Appearance in London hospital by Speaker - --i-e.

Any ideas?

btw. hyphens can be confusing and hard to count, i guess 22d is 5 letters?

adding a letter count in brackets at the end helps those of us who are visually challenged - well, me at least (2,2,4).
