The amount of advertising on this this site has become more than annoying. I can assure that I will not respond to a single one!

Several posters installed Adblockplus when the ads became unbearable.
I do wonder if anyone ever responds to them.

I have recently had to up-grade to windows 8 and am finding it even more difficult than ever to navigate this site because of the ads and the windows8 sensitivity.

I did install ad block for a while but then discovered I could not watch itv catch-up on the computer.

I use Adguard, similar to adblock but a smaller program that works quicker and is not as intrusive.
I use it with XP, windows7 and windows8, No problems:-)

Is it possible to uninstall it when you want to watch a programme and then install it again afterwards?

i just disabled it for itv player and that's fine. I think i had to click on a message "allow ads to watch this programme".
So ad blocker still blocks all the adverts on the other sites I visit
