3. Do th to achieve net profit [5] T*a** (trade?)
4. Old sailor found in a cellar [4] S*** (salt?)

3 don't understand the wording you have given...could be trawl I suppose

I had originally thought TRADE
but with the L from SALT it is now T*A*L?
So could be TRAWL, but I don't understand why?
