I've got a full grid here (with a couple of question marks regarding parsing).

Still can't decipher the instruction from the removed letters. Something like "IMITATING . . COLUMN . . EVERY FIFTH CLOCKWISE . . . POSITION OF NINE PARTICLES" ?

Yes, you really have to work hard to parse pretty much all the clues in this one. TINY not NINE, and INITIATING is the first word.

Some very tough clues. For instance, 24ac:

Scots strip thatch producer in Ireland (4)

I think the answer is TIRR (a Scottish term for 'strip'), but I can't parse it.

Also 16ac:

Section of sky to taunt aircraftsman possibly from G8 (7).

This is OCTADIC, but again, can't see why.

For 16ac it's Octa + dig + ac, extra Ga.

Demeter, I think that it is TIRL, which works TI in [I]RL - I am not keen on containers indicators used when they aren't needed in the answer.

Sorry, that should be 'insertion' in this case, but same argument.

This is a toughie, I've got a full grid but with a couple of guesses and six clashes. The extra letters give me gobbledygook between 'Column' and 'every'. Clearly I've made a few goofs, I'm ready to throw in the towel.

If you pick out two or three clues in the gaps I'll be happy to parse them for you; might help you plug the rest of the gap?
