Yet again syzygy thanks very much for this. Definitely a bit more challenging this time. My favourite clues include 33a, 56a, 1d (although not the most difficult clue a lovely read), 9d (which I didn't see for a long time due to the theme, hope I'm not giving too much away), 23d and 31d. Long may you keep posting them.

Quite a few gems. Thought 33d was nifty. Loved "snake-bite" and "emulate Bloomberg". It seemed as if there were more Americanisms than usual. Thought it a bit odd that the altered 22d wasn't in the uncommon words list; rather liked the use of 'hood jargon.

Glad you liked it. I wasn't too impressed with this one.

Ambitious puzzle but the execution lacked somewhat. Four words playing double duty & one triple. Rather busy in a few sectors while there were large swaths with no changes.

I thought 50A & 45D were totally unfair, even for Americans; doable but ...
The former is not even a town - a borough with a population of 1018 (Wiki).

Agree with your picks of nice reads. Also liked 4D, 33D, 52D.
I think 22D mod was considered a foreign word.

Till next month.
