On a short break from playing Monopoly with the grandkids........

I'm stuck on the parsing for two clues:
28A: food absorbing boy: egg on filled roll (12)
? H ? E ? E ? U ? G ? R
I'm thinking 'cheeseburger' but cannot parse it?

2d: A side order , in principle (5)
A ? I ? M (5)
it must be 'axiom' - again, why please?

A + XI (11 as in a team/side) + OM (order of Merit)

28. Cheer+seb+urge. (That's as much parsing as I can manage!)

2 D. A = a xi= side/eleven/team+om= order (Order of Merit).

Thank you, mamya and Malone - just couldn't see that at all! ( I was fixated on the idea of 'egg' being food!)

Moving on to Snakes and Ladders now.......
