Hi! You Ok?
The last message I had from you, you and your grand daughter were off to visit your mum-in law.
Everything all right?

Yes, Elle, thank you!
Old mum-in -law is much the same.
In reasonable health but a wee bitty muddled at times!
She still smokes, you know!
98 and puffing away!
Been a fine day here; hope it is the same with you?

Glad all ok - did wonder when you didn't appear all week (see, you were missed!)
Your mum- in law sounds incredible for her age - Good luck to her!
How old is your grand daughter? (How many children / grandkids have you got?)
Yes, lovely day here today, too. Went for long (well, only about 5 miles) walk this afternoon - with the dog of course!

I had several things to do, Elle, and for the next few weeks; so I was rarely on my laptop.
Yes Old Babs is doing away fine!
My granddaughter who went with me, is 16.
I have more granddaughters aged 22, 21, and 8.
Two grandsons, aged 20, and 16.
Two sons, no wife, and that's about it, I think!
Five miles is a long walk!

Just had dinner...as we've been out all day we didn't do a 'roast' - had chilli con carne instead.
BTW, did you try the stuffed peppers?
We've one son, two daughters and four grandkids - three grandsons (6, 4 and 2), one granddaughter(4) - and still counting........
Managed to fit in the Everyman crossword and the Times Jumbo Cryptic as well.......I'm definitely improving !(thanks to help from everyone on here)

Great, Elle!
A fine young family you have!
My grandsons are fine lads, but the girls run rings round me! They even nagged me to teach them to jive! I think it did my "street cred" a bit of good!
Not tried the peppers. I am very conservative with a small "c" regarding food!

Ah yes, street cred.......my girls would rather have gone to school freezing cold, with their skirts turned up at the waist, so that the hems were well above their knees, and their coats left undone, rather than buttoned up -resulting in blue noses and red knees! - all in the name of 'street cred'...!
I was just ( only a bit !) too young for rock 'n roll - you could probably teach me to jive, too! - at least according to my mother, who wouldn't let me go to dances then. I was allowed on the social scene when the Twist and the Shake were popular. I can do a mean twist!!!!

Yes, I did the Twist, too!
I met the Ronettes once, back in the mists of time!
My granddaughters are very good dancers.
They even do Irish step-dancing to a good standard.
They have tried to teach me but I am nowhere near nimble enough!
Good you are getting better at crosswords.
A long upward learning curve!

We used to do Scottish dancing at school, I liked that; never tried Irish!
I met Frankie Vaughan once, and Freddie of Freddie and the Dreamers. They were patients at one of my hospitals. Probably my only claim to fame!
Altho I did encounter the Duchess of Kent once at Wimbledon - we had quite a chat, she was very nice and friendly.
Listening to Katie Melua while I'm on the computer. Not very keen on a lot of 'modern day' singers , but really like her! I think tho that she's a bit like Marmite- folk seem either to love her or hate her!
I love her! I like her lyrics too - well worth listening to(she writes a lot of them herself)
How about you? do you like listening to her?

Elle, I recognise her name but have no idea what she sings.
To be honest, I am not keen on singers.
I prefer music without them.
Something toe-tapping and lively.
Cheers me up!
Meant to be warmer here tomorrow.
We shall see!
PS. I liked Ashley and Pudsey!
