what is the common factor for
football referees Martin Atkinson, Chris Foy, Howard Webb, Alan Wiley
any help please

The only thing I can think of is that they've all been criticised by Sir Alex Ferguson recently (although there can't be many refs who haven't!)

Do they all not wear spectacles,and should?

Did they all make their debut in the top division in the same year?
Do they all live in Lancashire?
Are they all left handed?
Are they all men in black?
Is the marital status of their parents open to question?
Who knows?

i think that they have all officiated the carling cup finals in recent years, could be worth checking up on

Sorry Janome. I had actually wiki'd all of them in an attempt to help but, couldn't come up with anything useful except the possibility they all live in Lancs. At least two of them do. The rest, well I was just being impish I guess. I'd be interested in the answer if you come up with one.

Don't want to put a spanner in your works but all four have refereed the FA Trophy final and the Community shield also within the last decade. Can't work this one out so if you find out let us know.
