Thanks, Aristo. I had 'Edmonton' and then erased it because it didn't fit with 9 across! the latter obviously being wrong!

Please can you help me with 9A , then?

I had 'under par' - I thought it was a double definition.

the 'o' now comes from 'Edmonton' and if 'pope' is correct, the second letter will be 'e'

(But why is it 'pope' ?)
