Having at last managed to download today's puzzle, I have been stuck for ages in SW corner., due to a clever red-herring as I see it:
21a Girl familiarly trapping former farceur in marriage.
I confidently wrote in TOTTIE: (Jonathan) OTT in (marriage) TIE...

I take it this is a comment and not a request for an answer??

Yes, just a comment - I did get there in the end, but was stuck for ages!

And I did use to know the Rix family! They were friends of an early boyfriend's family, and I used to (pretend to) share a room with Brian's daughters. I will say no more!
