Both of these answers were requested earlier. I can't see the logic 100% for either.

What a shower leaves about midnight in spas = watering places.

R.Attenborough loses lead in big old constituencies = rotten boroughs. Clearly based on an anagram but where do we add in the S? And replace the A with an O?

a shower leaves "water in places." Add G,midd(le) night. A spa is a watering place.

Big = OS (outsize)
Loses lead ie loses A

Loses lead = lose A (of Attenborough).
big = OS (out-size).
in = put ttenborough in OS.
