I have been getting so much better with the Quick Cryptic in the week, but still find 'real' cryptic so hard!
1d. Sheltering kid, one joining in group (8)
6a. A little money available, once VAT is settled (7)

Grateful for any help.....

6 Centavo - coin, money. Anagram of 'once vat'.

1. Garaging, sheltering. It's 'rag' for kid, 'i' for one and 'gang' is group.

Thanks! I had tried the anagram but did not get a recognisable word....
