Very simple and straightforward except for a 'misclue' (I think I've probably invented a word!)

12A: South American beaver-like rodent, bred for its fur (6)

The answer has to be 'nutria'; but 'nutria' is the skin or fur of the coypu, not the animal itself. This isn't what the clue is asking for.
Opinions please!

You're a whizz, Jazzgirl! I've looked this up in my dictionaries and even online, but only come up with 'coypu' for the animal and 'nutria' as its fur. I know my dictionary is old, but even so.....
(BTW, I have ordered a new (13th edition) of Chambers!)

NUTRIA is certainly correct - according to The Grauniad's 'Solution' which is available at the bottom of the puzzle.

Of course, you can't believe everything that you read in The Grauniad.
