The previous post was done in Firefox and doesn't show "the problem" either. This one is using the abhorrent IE7 with all it dingle dangles, automatic toolbars and other crap. We'll see what happens.

trevor,

I can't see it there either. On each of these I have omitted the question at the bottom and "the problem" hasn't appeared. Which browser are you using and how did you make the errant backslashes appear?

Hi John.
I agree that this is not a critical problem, I was responding to somebody who (i think) mixed it up with the apostrophe in the thread title stuff.

I use firefox - and i shall try and eff it up again(it did seem to be doing stuff twice that did it).

my browser is MSIE 8.0. I get the / inverted comma thing if I try and "add reply" without completing all or any of "name" "email" or the "question". That's the problem. like this.

seems to have been fixed. It would do it to me under the same conditions (different browser).

was never a problem anyway, just curious.

Ah, maybe IE 8 has gone through some self-inflicted morphing which most of Windoze seems to do quite regularly.
