After considerable wrestling I'm stuck on the last two :

49D - Sound of bird coming from this plant (5)

All I can think of for the latter is THYME but it doesn't sound much like a bird of which I've ever heard .

Thyme looks good. Bird is "doing bird" Time inside prison
