Copper resting in an usual way - (not told how many letters) Any help welcomed

Long shot - a copper is one who cops - takes as in "cop something" , a stinger is one who stings - takes as in "stings someone for something. Stinger is an anagram of "resting" ie in an unusual way?
Not confident about that.
