Gbyd evening, Wynneaway,
Welcome to the Forum.
18a. - "in audition" = "sounds like" a word for "follow script" - answer is the surname of a film director.
23a. - take the first two initials of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and put them around the French for "nothing" - the answer is a synonym of "ally".
29a. - if something - or someone! - has been claimed, he/she/it has been " s...e./f..".......the Livingstone is a politician, and his first name (3) is followed by an abbreviation for "following" (1); these four letters are surrounded by a synonym for "trail" (5)
24d. - an abbreviation for "day" (1), followed by a synonym for "rise" (think horses, or ugly head!) (4) gives a synonym for "boring".
Hoping this helps! (But fully aware that in the time that I have taken to type this, somebody else will have posted the answers!!!!!)
