For no. 3, I'm guessing that John had a herd of camels (maybe John Hare?); if so Camelford would work.

Thanks for all your efforts. I've Googled John Hare and he has a big association with camels. How knowledgeable you are JimC.
I think Bulford is favourite though. I've got Oxford for a different one. Barb.
