and.................

"Prepare 'Sticky mess date' to give compensation" (4,4)

Prepare = Make
Sticky mess = Goo
and d for date.

There are a few letters wrong in this last post.
22d is Poker(ok in per). 25a is bakeries. 22a is Putsch, and 35a is cheat - HE in Cat

Yet another example of insufficient information. The original clue didn't have a number so I hadn't associated it with the answer "5D Newmarket". C'est la vie.
