Not much help I know but I am stuck on the same clue, the only answer I can think of is "shearer" but there must be something better. It doesn't help having only one cross letter.
Juan Vivaldi appears to have been the captain of the Argentine Hockey Team - fits the bill? It was a lucky google on composers that might fit those letters!
